“The basic idea of phpWebSite themes”

In essence, phpWebSite is built up like an onion. While it has a couple of layers, you just need to peel down as much as you want to.

For example, take the layout engine. It consists of

- the master theme template (theme.tpl)
- transfer-areas for output (left column, right column, ...)
- boxstyles for output within those transfer-areas
- template styles.

While you can define all of those four in a theme, thus defining the looks for each and every module individually, too, you can also get away with just providing a master theme, the transfer areas and one single boxstyle.

How did you get this theme to work?

It was not too hard... I took the template, put the phpWebSite theme variables in it and was basically done. A little bit of tweaking here and there, definition of a boxstyle...

Classic "let's convert an open source template".
