So you got an old homepage you'd like to transfer to phpWebSite... Well, depending on the number of pages and the complexity, you'll have a bit of work here.

For a theme in phpWebSite, you need to separate things. You have a master layout, you have "boxstyles" and you have module templates. Now map this to your old site.

Is there a master-layout? Could you come up with a simple html file that's basically the structure of your old site? Take that and adapt a copy of the theme.tpl of the Default theme to it.

Is your content presented in a special way? Take the according module template and adapt it. If you put in all your old content now, chances are it looks a lot like your old site.
